The CCIBA is happy to announce the Spring Creative Workshop programme will once again be taking place at the Visual Arts Department at Stellenbosch University from Monday 7 to Friday 11 September 2015 during the university recess. The Spring Creative Workshop programme gives the general public an opportunity to make use of the infrastructure provided by the Visual Arts department, as well as experienced, practicing fine art practitioners and lecturers at the department by means of enrolling for one of a variety of short courses.
Experienced arts practitioners will facilitate the workshops thereby ensuring quality instruction.
All the courses are introductory, but can also be attended by artists who wish to become acquainted with new disciplines. 10 participants per course ensure special attention is given to each individual. Courses are offered only if at least 4 participants registered for a particular course. The duration of each workshop is 5 days and the cost includes more or less 30 hours of teaching, practical work and outings where necessary. On the Friday, at 17h30, there will be an exhibition of work completed during the week. Friends and family are welcome to join for a glass of wine to celebrate work produced during the workshop on this date. Each participant will then also receive a Certificate of Participation endorsed by the Visual Arts Department.
Courses offered (and costs per course) :
Children’s Book Illustration R3500
Silver Jewellery Design and Manufacture R3500
Elementary Digital Photography R3500

Please note that we have had to increase our tariffs due to an increase in the levy we must pay the University. We are, however, willing to consider a discount of R500 to those who cannot afford the fee, provided that we receive a formal request in writing.
Choose one of the above, or if you are interested in a discipline not mentioned, send us a request – we might be able to offer it too.
Current and former students of the department pay R3000 per course (Botanical Illustration – R2500).
Participants need to bring their own materials as these are not included. Facilitators may provide materials at an extra cost.
